[YellowOnBlack]SELECTING XPRESS MAIL AREAS
[LtCyanOnBlack]
In this section, you define the mail areas of interest for Silver Xpress
mail scanning. Bulletin boards usually carry a tremendous amount of mail
areas (sometimes called conferences or forums). But Xpress allows you to
select the areas of interest and only those areas selected are scanned
for mail. The mail areas are numbered sequentially.

[YellowOnBlack]SELECTING or DESELECTING AREAS[LtCyanOnBlack]
To select or deselect areas, just type in the area number(s).
[LtMagentaOnBlack]Example; 1 3 4 10
[LtCyanOnBlack]By typing the number, Xpress will toggle the selection (If selected,
it will be deselected. If deselected, it will be selected).
You can force the selection or deselection by prefixing it with a +
or - sign.
[LtMagentaOnBlack]Example; +1 -2 +3 +10

[YellowOnBlack]FINDING AREAS OF INTEREST[LtCyanOnBlack]
Use the F command with a keyword to search the list of available
areas. For instance, you might be interested in areas pertaining to
COOKING, so you might type F COOK to list the areas with this specific
interest.

[YellowOnBlack]CHANGE THE LAST READ POINTERS FOR MAIL AREAS[LtCyanOnBlack]
The BBS keeps a counter of where you last left off for new mail. They
are often referred to as last read pointers. Each mail area has a last
read pointer. For instance, if there are 200 new messages in a mail
conference #1 to #200, and the last message read you read was #125,
then Xpress will scan from 126 to 200 for new mail.
You may not want to receive so much mail, so you can use the R command
to change the last read value.
[LtMagentaOnBlack]Example:
[YellowOnBlack]R 10 15 [WhiteOnBlack]- [LtGreenOnBlack]Change last read pointers in area 10 and 15
[YellowOnBlack]R * [WhiteOnBlack]- [LtGreenOnBlack]Change pointers in all selected areas.
[YellowOnBlack]R * 5 [WhiteOnBlack]- [LtGreenOnBlack]Reset pointer to 5 in all selected areas.
[LtCyanOnBlack]Note that Silver Xpress features a unique mail bundling system
called Flex Select. After the mail scan, you can decide then how
much mail is actually sent to you.
